about

On their second album, Dualitas, violinist Lora Kmieliauskaitė and cellist Arnas Kmieliauskas, together known as the Twenty Fingers Duo, present music by two very different Lithuanian composers: Rita Mačiliūnaitė, famous for her incidental music for theatre and modern operas, and Kristupas Bubnelis who recently returned to Lithuania from his studies in London. The album features two electroacoustic compositions, Dreamcatcher 2120 for violin, cello and electronics (2021), and ...please leave your message after the tone... for violin, cello and electronics (2020). These reveal the composers’ differences in their attitudes toward sonic expression, the relationship between the members of the duo, the correlation between the acoustic instruments and the electronics, and the strategy of their creative process.
