'Going In' was composed following Justina’s first return to Europe after one year in South Africa. According to the composer, the piece is about her travel back into herself, trying to revisit the inner changes that occurred during the time she spent away from everything familiar and comprehensible. The two differently sounding percussion instruments – marimba and vibraphone – symbolize experiences before and after her travels. The music is repetitive, though not monotonous, filled with constant harmonic twists and emerging new textures.
