Slow but vibrant in texture, 'intus' explores the sonic and technical possibilities of a double bass and manifests the composer’s interest in sonoristic systems. As the music grows in intensity, the dissonant sound layers are transposed into higher registers before fading away. The work was composed in Poland during the Synthesis International Summer Course for Composers and was first performed by composer and double bass player Tadeusz Wielecki. In May 2018 Mark Hendry recorded the revised version.
