about

'Textile 1' for two pianos (2006) was written at precisely the time when the composer discovered the technique of mapping textile patterns onto musical structures. The way of doing this is not complicated (like the diatonic mode with only the white keys being used): every cell of the pattern corresponds to a sixteenth note; the lines of black and white cells to the formation of the notes, similar in nature but in opposition to one another (e.g. the ascending and descending direction of movement).
